Mr. Connorty died Wednesday, Oct. 29, in a Temple hospital.
He was born May 9, 1922, to George Patrick and Agnes Horan Connorty in Temple. He was a 1940 graduate of Temple High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, 1942 to 1945, being stationed in England with the Eighth Air Force. He married Anthonette “Ann” Scardino in Waco on Feb. 14, 1946. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a wire chief in communication for 45 years, retiring in January of 1987. He served as treasurer of the Temple-Santa Fe Employees Credit Union for 44 years. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years of Temple; a son, Jim Connorty of Temple; a daughter, Linda Barnes of Temple; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
