She died Saturday at a Brownwood nursing home.
Mrs. Strawn was born July 23, 1923, in Florence to the late Joe and Mary Bell Harris Dixon. She married James Allen “Buddy” Strawn on Nov. 8, 1940, in Lampasas. She worked as a sales clerk for more than 30 years. She had been a resident of Brownwood since 1991, moving there from Belton, and was a member of the Avenue W Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband; and a son, Gayland Strawn.
Survivors include three sons, Chester Strawn of Brownwood, Weldon Strawn of Houston and Ronnie Strawn of Temple; a daughter, Donna Kirbo of Brownwood; a brother, Earl Dixon of Brady; a sister, Lillian Whitely of Belton; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Heartland Funeral Home in Early is in charge of arrangements.
