Burial will follow in McDowell Cemetery in Belton.
Mrs. Barnes died Wednesday, Nov. 5, in Virginia Beach.
She was born Aug. 19, 1926, to the late C.Y. “Mann” and Ruby Reede Scott in Temple. She married J.L. Barnes Jr. on July 5, 1947, in Temple. She worked for Southwestern Bell, which later became AT&T, for more than 50 years as an “O” operator. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 14, 2007; and a son, James Scott “Skip” Barnes on Aug. 7, 2008.
Survivors include a son, Richard Barrineau of Belton; a daughter, Paula Boyd of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
