The body will be cremated.
Mr. Tripp died Saturday, Nov. 8, at his home.
He was born March 25, 1939, to Lawrence E. and Cloye Zentner Tripp in Lakota, Iowa. He was raised in Beloit, Kan. He married Judith A. McMullin on Feb. 21, 1981, in San Diego. He served in the U.S. Navy, retiring after 20 years. He was also a small business owner and had worked for Sears in Austin. He moved to Rockdale three years ago from Buda. He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Rockdale, and of Sower Christian Volunteers, working around the country. He coached youth league soccer and softball.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years of Rockdale; a son, Tracy Ray Tripp of San Diego; a daughter, Susan Kay Barrett of San Diego; a stepson, William Anthony of Corpus Christi; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Blackstock of Rockdale; a brother, Lawrence Tripp of Beloit, Kan.; a sister, Judith E. Tripp of Hiattville, Kan.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
