Leopards avoid letdown, roll past Dallas Diesel 102-79

DALLAS - After its big win over No. 7-ranked San Jacinto on Saturday, Temple College avoided any letdown and routed Dallas Diesel 112-79 on Monday night.

The Leopards (4-1) led 60-37 at halftime and cruised to victory in the second half.

“We played well on the press,” TC coach Kirby Johnson said. “We didn’t know if they would be lethargic after the win (over San Jacinto). In the second half we just coasted and a lot of guys got playing time.”

Adam Guerrero and Harker Heights graduate Chris Ellis led the Leopards with 16 points. Rayland Robinson and Killeen graduate Jordan Brown had 15 while Allyn Cooks, Sean Jones, J.B. Conley and Temple graduate Russ Permenter had 10 apiece.

TC plays Austin Tillotson’s junior varsity at 7 on Wednesday in Austin.
