Rogers, Salado, Granger volleyball teams look to advance to regional semifinals

The Rogers, Salado and Granger volleyball teams continue their drive for a state championship tonight in the regional quarterfinals.

No. 5-ranked Rogers (38-2) plays Wallis Brazos at 7 p.m. today in Luling in a Class 2A Region IV quarterfinal. With a win, Rogers will face Freer or Vanderbilt in a regional semifinal on Friday at San Antonio’s Northeast Blossom Athletic Center.

No. 12-ranked Salado (34-5) faces No. 3 Hallettsville at 7 p.m. in Elgin in a 2A Region IV quarterfinal. If Salado advances, the Lady Eagles would face Banquete or George West in a regional semifinal at San Antonio’s Northeast Blossom Athletic Center.

With two more wins, Rogers and Salado, the co-District 25-2A champions, would meet for the Region IV final on Saturday.

Granger plays No. 3-ranked Leakey at 7 p.m. today at Schertz Clemens in a Class A Region IV quarterfinal. If the Lady Lions advance, they would face either No. 5 Shiner or Louise in a semifinal match in Brenham on Friday.
