Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Academy First Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Boatwright and Rev. Laine Teel officiating.
Burial will follow in Reeds Lake Cemetery.
Mrs. Hester was born July 2, 1916, to William Blane and Ada Mink Shipplett in Kentucky. She was a Temple High School graduate and was a retired homemaker. She was a member of the Academy First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Hester, on Jan. 6, 1988.
Survivors include a son, James W. Hester of Sebring, Fla.; a daughter, Dolores Underwood of Holland; two brothers, Delona Shipplett of Waco and Francis Shiplett of Holland; a sister, Ann Caviness of Navasota; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Academy First Baptist Church, 304 N. State Highway 95, Little River 76554 or to the Lighthouse Hospice.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
