Burial will be 1 p.m. in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Gomez died Friday, Nov. 14, in a local hospital.
He was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Belton to Serapio and Manuela Castillo Gomez. He married Juanita Reyes on June 13, 1954, in Temple. He served in the U.S. Army as well as the National Guard Reserves. He was a self-employed station operator and mechanic. He was a member of the Disabled American Veteran’s Organization. He was a member of the Asociacion de Santo Nombre at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Connie Nunez of Temple; two brothers, Concepcion Gomez and Robert Gomez, both of San Diego; four sisters, Margaret Cruz of Anaheim, Calif., and Tommie Gomez, Annie Martinez, and Sally Rosales, all of San Diego; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
