Mrs. Tamez died Sunday, Nov. 16, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 6, 1929, in Big Spring to Samuel Martinez and Refugia Perez Martinez. She worked more than 20 years as a presser for Pittman’s Cleaners in Belton. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro C. Tamez, on April 1, 2008, and a great-grandson.
Survivors include three sons, Ray Bustillos of Austin, Amarante Lucero of Michigan and John Tamez of Belton; a daughter, Mary Tijerina of Lubbock, a brother, Jesus Martinez of Kingsville; three sisters, Dora Berlanga of Lubbock, Virginia Mancha of Midland and Alicia Flemins of Lubbock; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of arrangements.
