The Tigers got 25 points from junior Eric Braeuer and 10 from sophomore Sean Voss and had the lead for much of the game.
The game was tied at 42 entering the fourth quarter. The Badgers took their first lead with about 3 minutes to play and took the lead for good with 24 seconds to go.
Belton’s Saquonne Crump missed a potential game-tying shot with 11 seconds left.
“In the first half 15 of Lampasas’ 21 points came at the free-throw line,” second-year Belton coach John Osborn said. “We used our hands too much on defense.
“Lampasas played well in the second half and I thought we did, too, but they made the shots at the end.”
The Tigers face Stephenville at 9 p.m. Friday in the Central Texas Showcase at Mary Hardin-Baylor’s Mayborn Campus Center.
