The page, named by students who took part in a Telegram organizing event, carries on the tradition of earlier pages by area teens. It will run on Thursdays.
It is open to all area students ages 19 and under, who choose the topics they want to write about.
Assistant Managing Editor Jerry Prickett, who is in charge of the project, said while most participants have been high school students, the Telegram received quite a few excellent stories from middle school students in the past.
“We want the page to be about things young people are interested in - from movies made from books they enjoy, like “Twilight” - to music, to issues, fashions … whatever,” Prickett said.
Teens wanting to submit items for the page may send stories, photos, drawings, etc., to telegramteens@yahoo.com.
To see past examples, go to www.temple-telegram.com/nexgen/index.php. Students interested in participating should register at this site. People with questions about the page may contact Prickett at 778-4444 ext. 225.
