Mr. Wendel died Wednesday, Nov. 19, in a Temple hospital.
He was born March 31, 1917, to Hilmar and Mathilda Anderegg Wendel in a Gillespie County. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a Temple resident since the 1970s and was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews.
Hewett-Arney Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
