Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, in Post Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Buddy Sipe officiating.

Mrs. Morris was born July 9, 1909, to the late Charles D. and Virginia Day Wright Sr. in the Whitson community near Moody. She was a 1926 graduate of Baylor College Academy in Belton and continued her education at Mary-Hardin Baylor College, where she earned a teaching certificate in 1929. She moved to Oglesby where she taught school.

On Sept. 21, 1933, she married F.A. “Hoss” Morris in Oglesby. She retired in 1941, after twelve years of service. She continued to substitute teach for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years on September 16, 1998.

Survivors include a son, Felix “Punk” Morris of McGregor; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Post Oak Cemetery Association, Oglesby Volunteer Fire Department or McGregor Ambulance Association.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. today at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor.
