Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron with the Rev. Gary Maroney officiating.
Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery in Buckholts.
Mr. James was born Oct. 16, 1922, to George Austin and Cordie Pearl Johnson James. He married Pearl Gilbert on Feb. 1, 1947. He retired as an operations engineer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Edwin Hardy Post 9 American Legion and V.F.W. Post 2010 of Cameron.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years of Cameron; two sons, Bobby James of Pearland and Kenneth James of Spring Branch; two daughters, Claudia Goode of Benton, Ark., and Karen McCluskey of Bulverde; a brother, Homer James of Newport News, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in Cameron.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
