Burial will follow in Salty Cemetery near Thorndale.
Mr. Towery died Tuesday, Nov. 25, in an Austin hospital.
He was born May 12, 1935, to Rufus Mark and Edna Lucille Towery in Salty. He married Lou Ann Shavers on Dec. 23, 1953. He retired after 40 years with Alcoa Operations in Rockdale. He was presently working for Maxwell Dodge Dealership in Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years of Thorndale; three sons, Mike Towery and Jerry Towery, both of Thorndale and Stevie Towery of Lexington; a daughter, Sue Ann Burlin of Victoria; three sisters, Dana Caffey of Rockdale, Sandra Braswell of Austin and Molly Wilson of South Dakota; his mother of Rockdale; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
