Thanskgiving dinner

Arcynthia Louie serves Martina Acostas dinner at the seventh annual Hope for the Holidays Thanksgiving Dinner on Wednesday that was headed by Wal-Mart Distribution Center and Sam’s Club in partnership with the American Red Cross and Central Texas Homeless Alliance. About 400 people enjoyed a traditional meal with trimmings at a building in the 300 block of West Avenue G. Judy Morales, director of the Bell County HELP Center said volunteers went into parks and other areas where they expected to find the homeless and low income people and invited them to eat. “The volunteers we had — They showed such overwhelming love and wanting to serve. It was really great,” Morales said. (Clint Bittenbinder/Telegram)
