He died Tuesday, Nov. 18, at his home.
He was born April 22, 1971, to Rosetta Burgess. He served in the U.S. Army for nine years and was a veteran of the war in Iraq. He was a member of Eighth Street Baptist Church in Temple.
Survivors include a son, Michael Burgess Jr. of Temple; a daughter, Jaidyn Burgess of Temple; three sisters, Sharon King, Nikki Burgess and Kim King, all of Fayetteville; and his mother of Fayetteville.
Wiseman Mortuary of Fayetteville is in charge and Branford/Dawson Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of local arrangements.
