Raymond Carlisle

BELTON — Services for Raymond E. Carlisle, 86, of Belton, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton.

Mr. Carlisle died Wednesday, Nov. 26.

He was born April 25, 1922, in Belton to John and Sallie Ranne Carlisle. He graduated from Belton High in 1941. He married Jennie May Ray on June 19, 1945, in Providence, R.I. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War as a chief petty officer. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Raymondville for 30 years, retiring as postmaster. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years, a member of Rotary International for more than 30 years, and a member of the B.P.O.E. and the American Legion. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Raymondville. He was preceded in death of his wife.

Survivors include two sons, James Raymond Carlisle of Austin and Ronald E. Carlisle of Austin; a brother, Robert Carlisle; and two grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society, Belton Library or First United Methodist Church in Belton.
