Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Wald died Tuesday, Nov. 25.
He was born in New York City on Aug. 8, 1920, and later moved to Gettysburg, Pa. He joined the U.S. Navy before World War II and later served as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard for more than 20 years. His duty stations included New York; Baltimore; Port Arthur; Honolulu; New Orleans; St. Louis; and Washington, D.C. In 1987 he moved to Temple. Wald was a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years and belonged to the Karem Shrine in Waco and the Knob Creek Lodge in Temple. He was also a member of the Elks, the Sojourners and the Retired Officers Association. He belonged to the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildren “Midge” Wald; a daughter, Linda Gibson; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
