Burial will be in Mound Cemetery.
Mrs. Ayers died Tuesday, Dec. 2, in a local nursing center.
She was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Coryell County to John C. and Gladys Culp Buster. She grew up in Coryell County and went to school in Turnersville and Gatesville. She married Gene Ayers in 1954. She worked for ten years at Deck Boat and ten years at Walls Manufacturing. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a grandson.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Patsy Jackson of Bastrop; two sons, Roy Ayers of Austin and Harlan Ayers of Gatesville; two sisters, Vera Ayers and Marcia Cockrell, both of Gatesville; three brothers, Johnnie Buster, Clyde Buster, and Calvin Buster, all of Gatesville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
