Burial will be in Taylor City Cemetery.
Mr. Tanksley died Friday, Nov. 28, at a Williamson County hospital.
He was born March 20, 1934, in Hill County to Houston and Minnie Allen-Tanksley. He was a retired truck driver and was a member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Tanksley of Taylor; four sons, Ricky Tanksley of Round Rock, Herman Lee Washington, Larry Washington and Billy Ray Washington, all of Taylor; three daughters, Lavon Tanksley of Austin, Cheryl Weatherington of Round Rock, Joyce Harris of Taylor; four sisters, Geraldine Wilson of Pflugerville, Loyce Green of New Plano, La., Jo McGowan of Houston, Etta Marie Harris of Houston; two brothers, McGee Tanksley of Houston and Floyce “Bubba” Tanksley of Houston; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
W.H. Littles and Sons Mortuary in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
