She died in a Seguin nursing home.
Mrs. Carpenter was born Oct. 14, 1917, to Newton and Eunice Denman Herring in Tennessee Valley. She graduated in 1934, from Belton High School. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Carpenter.
Survivors include two sons, James Cary Carpenter of Belton and John Randall Carpenter of Seguin; a sister, Linda Engleholm of Belton; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the North Belton Cemetery.
