Burial will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with full military honors.
Mr. Dean died Friday, Nov. 28, in a Temple hospital.
He was born on June 3, 1928, to Aurther and Agnes Dean in Johnson City, Tenn. He was a 21-year Army veteran and later retired from the veterans hospital. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Corine Dean; five sons, William Dean II of Detroit; William Dean III of Beaumont, Joshua Stockton Dean of Huntsville, Mark Adkins of Long Beach, Calif., Demetrius Dean of Pensacola, Fla.; seven daughters, Tartisha Dean of Temple, Linda Dean of Killeen, Vanessa Lampkins of Houston, Deshelia Dean of Cincinnati, Tyna Williams, Felicia Luie, Suzette Ragsdale, all of Detroit; and a sister, Annie Ruth Gillispie.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. today at Branford-Dawson Funeral Home, followed by a wake at 6-7 p.m.
