The Temple Civic Theatre is pulling out all the stops for its fourth annual New Year’s Eve Gala.

Using the Van Gogh masterpiece “A Starry Night” as its visual axis, the event is being billed as a “celestial experience,” said Tim Campbell, TCT managing director.

The gala will begin at 7 p.m. with cocktails (cash bar) and hors d’oeuvres. At 8:30 p.m. a dinner will be provided by Cactus Jack’s and dancing will begin at 10 p.m.

Emily Matthews, KWTX news anchor, will serve as host for the evening at the Cultural Activities Center in Temple. The Elephants Band will perform dance music. Reservations are encouraged.

“We have a volunteer team of very gifted designers and technicians who are pooling their creative energies to produce what will undoubtedly be a visually stunning, unforgettable evening of haute cuisine and exhilarating entertainment,” said Campbell.

Cactus Jack’s will treat guests to a seated dinner highlighted by Chef Randy Montelongo’s seared beef tenderloin, herb-crusted halibut, and custom-created signature drink, the Van Gogh-tini.

“The galas we’ve produced in the past have all been unique, but I really believe that we’ve got something extraordinary and magical happening this year,” Campbell said. “The food and décor will be unlike anything Temple has seen. Guests are going to leave mesmerized and speechless.”

A broad range of raffle items will be offered this year including a custom-designed necklace and pendant from Benton’s Jewelers in Salado valued at $1,685, an in-home evening of food and wine prepared by Chef Montelongo of Cactus Jack’s, a custom chandelier designed by Bobby Rynearson of Rhyno Glass, an in-home wine tasting provided by Clinton Harwell of Pignetti’s Restaurant, a portrait package from Glamour Shots in Killeen, a basket of gift certificates to a variety of local restaurants, a wellness package from Shelly Giebel, a star-gazing party at the Mayborn Planetarium and other items.

Raffle tickets are $20 each or 6 for $100.

A new Harley Davidson motorcycle will be the top prize of the evening.

For $50, party goers will take a single roll of the dice to win the motorcycle.

The New Year’s Eve Gala is the principle fundraising event for TCT.

“In exchange for their support, guests will be treated to what will ultimately be the finest New Year Eve party anywhere in Texas,” Campbell said. “We’re theatre people, we know how to stage an elaborate and riveting time.”

The gala is sponsored in part by Scott & White and private individuals.
