LeRoy C. Fisher Jr.

Graveside services for LeRoy C. “Bud” Fisher Jr., 84, of Temple will be 2 p.m. Monday in Roberts Cemetery in Troy.

Mr. Fisher died Monday, Dec. 15, at a Temple hospital.

He was born Oct. 25, 1924, to LeRoy Cecil Fisher Sr. and Bonnie Romans Fisher in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He worked as a radio personality on KBGO and WACO in Waco and KORA in Bryan. He was co-founder of the Country Music Association of Texas. He was a resident of Central Texas since 1986, and a member of Temple VFW Post 1820. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine V. Fisher in 2003.

Survivors include two sons, LeRoy C. Fisher III of Troy and David Fisher of Austin; three daughters, Donna Elsom of Colorado, Marilyn Drako of Nashville, Tenn., and JoLee Kearshens of Austin; a brother, Scott Fisher of Olympia, Wash.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
