Safety Derrick Williams, linebacker Eric Henri and guard Josh Littlejohn - all seniors - were first-team selections and sophomore kicker Alan Munoz was a third-team pick. All four players were All-American Southwest Conference first-team honorees.
Williams, a Temple product, posted 96 tackles and had a team-high five interceptions. Henri - an American Football Coaches Association All-American and Little All-American third-team selection - recorded a team-best 97 tackles, 11½ for losses.
They anchored a defense that allowed 267 yards and 15 points per game for the fourth-ranked Crusaders (12-2), who advanced to the NCAA Division III semifinals.
Littlejohn helped pave the way for an offense that averaged 406 yards and 38 points per game, and Munoz went 15-for-20 on field goals and 67-of-71 on extra points in scoring a team-high 112 points.
Senior running back Nate Kmic of national champion Mount Union (Ohio) was named as D3football.com’s Offensive Player of the Year after finishing his career as college football’s all-time rushing leader.
National runner-up Wisconsin-Whitewater had the Defensive Player of the Year in senior linebacker Jace Rindahl and Coach of the Year in Lance Leipold.
