Burial will follow in Point Enterprise Cemetery in Mexia.
Mr. Buttery died Saturday, Dec. 20, at his home.
He was born March 20, 1924, to Albert James Buttery and Dorothy Hoss Buttery in San Angelo. He married Virginia Kerzee on May 29, 1948, in Point Enterprise. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a lieutenant junior grade. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He worked for Monsanto Chemical Company and Bonner & Moore Consulting Company as an engineer. He had been a Lampasas resident for 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion; the Disabled American Veterans; the Boy Scouts of America; the Texas Map Society; and the Texas Exes.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years of Lampasas; a son, David Nelson Buttery of Woodland Park, Colo.; two daughters, Alice Buttery Johnson of Bryan and Laura Buttery of Lampasas; a brother, Robert Buttery of Green Valley, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the hospice of your choice.
Visitation will be 8:30-9 a.m. today at the funeral home.
