He died Monday, Dec. 22, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 18, 1933, in Elgin, Tenn., to Opal and Captola Martin Davidson. He served in the U.S. Army, retiring as a sergeant 1st class in 1972. His military awards include the Bronze Star; Army Commendation Medal; Air Medal; Purple Heart; Korean Campaign Medal; United Nations Medal; Vietnamese Service Ribbon; Vietnam Campaign Ribbon; and the National Defense Ribbon. He also worked as an independent trucker. He married Mary Magdalene Crabtree on Oct. 1, 1955, in Scott County, Tenn. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 670 in Robbins, Tenn., the Scottish Rite Knights Templar, and the Easter Star of Lometa.
His wife preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 2000.
Survivors are a daughter, Pamela Dale Lee of Killeen; a son, Jimmy L. Davidson Jr. of Ransom Canyon; two sisters, Mary Ann Seabolt of Glenmary, Tenn., and Sue Allen of Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, Opal Lee Davidson of Clarksville, Tenn., Glenn Davidson of Nashville, Tenn., David Paul Davidson of Elgin, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Sheppard Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
