Mrs. Hays died Sunday, Dec. 21.
She was born Feb. 19, 1923, to John Roven and Sara “Sally” Martin Bailey in the Jericho Community of Shelby County. She married James F. “Buddy” O’Connell on June 5, 1940, in San Antonio. She worked for D.A. Mecom Oil Company in Houston for many years and with the Houston Fire Department. She married Bill Hays in 1972, in Houston. She was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church in Belton.
She was in death preceded by her first husband Dec. 5 1970, by her second husband in 2001, and a son, Jimmy O’Connell on Sept. 28, 1969.
Survived by a daughter, Brenda Hays of Homer, Alaska.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
