Mrs. Garfield died Wednesday, Dec. 24, at a Belton nursing home.
She was born on May 12, 1917, to James B. and Vinnie Moore Elza in Heidenheimer. She married Jack Garfield on April 8, 1944, in Belton. She was a member of Belton Church of Christ. She worked for Crestview Manor Nursing Home for more than 40 years and was recently honored at her retirement party by the City of Belton and Governor Perry’s office with “Martha Garfield Day”.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Klefas of Houston; a brother, J.B. Elza of Temple; a grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
Dossman Funeral Home of Belton is in charge of arrangements.
