The body will be cremated.
Sgt. Lemons died Monday, Dec. 22.
She was born on Sept. 25, 1954, to Fenie and Alma Teague Lemons in Temple. She was a member of Crestview Christian Church in Temple. She was a 1973 graduate of Temple High School. She served in the U.S. Army for more than 12 years and was honorable discharged in 1993. She received numerous medals and awards while she served. She was a disable veteran. She earned a degree in management from Temple Junior College and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in counseling and social work from Marshall University in West Virginia.
Survivors include a brother, Tony Lemons of Dallas; two sisters, Ruth Broadus and Joyce Collins, both of Temple; and her mother of Temple.
Viewing will be 1-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
