Burial will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Ford died Friday, Dec. 26, at a Temple hospital.
He was born Dec. 1, 1935, to John Roland and Helen Potter Ford in Trion, Ga. He had lived in this area since 1976. He retired from the U.S. Army. His decorations include the National Defense Service Medal; the Bronze Star Medal; the Basic Missileman Badge; the Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Bronze 3 Loops; the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; and the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Silver Service Star. He also retired from DOIM (Department of Information Management) with Civil Service and received “The Superior Civilian Service Award” from the Department of the Army. He was a member of the Killeen VFW Post, the Lone Star Travel RV Club; the Retirees RV Club (TMR); and LOOM Lodge No. 2179(Loyal Order of the Moose).
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Ford of Kempner; two daughters, Martina Ford Stalemann of Gatesville and Patricia Ford of Fayetteville, N.C.; a stepson, Bradley Emmerling of Charlotte, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Sandra Carrillo of Copperas Cove; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
