Milam County Sheriff’s Office officials identified the intruder as Eddie Sexton III.
Milam County officials would not name the person who shot Sexton, nor would they give any more information.
Officials said the incident occurred on County Road 218, a dirt road with few houses. Justice of the Peace Don Ahrendt pronounced Sexton dead at the scene.
No charges have been filed, according to the sheriff’s office
Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale will be handling the funeral arrangements.
