Lois E. Dake

MCGREGOR — Services for Lois Elaine Dake, 84, of Waco will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cole Funeral Home in McGregor with Eric Printz and Kevin Naillieux officiating.

Burial will be in Valley Mills Cemetery.

Mrs. Dake died Saturday Dec. 27, in McGregor.

She was born Jan. 20, 1924, in Waco to Coy William and Burah Saphoronia Henderson Gandy. She was reared in Abilene where she attended school from 1929 to 1941. She married William Everett Dake May 1, 1943, in Abilene and he preceded her in death Aug. 11, 1966. She and her husband operated a feed store in Valley Mills for several years before she moved to Waco after her husband’s death in 1966.

She was preceded in death by two infant great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Stanley Dake of McGregor and James Dake of Oracle, Ariz.; three daughters, Carol Printz of Sidney, Neb., Kathleen Stahlecker of The Grove, and Patricia Meyer of Moody; a sister, Coy Nell Goodloe of Sugar Land; sixteen grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice, 4830 Lakewood Drive Suite 5, Waco, 76710; American Cancer Society, 1311 New Road, Waco, 76710; or National Down Syndrome Society, 666 Broadway Eighth Floor, New York, 10012 for memorial contributions.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
