Mr. Kiemele died Sunday, Dec. 28, in a Temple hospital.
He was born Sept. 16, 1911, in Alberta, Canada, to George Kiemele and Vera Hall Kiemele where he lived for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Ella Mildred Jones on April 15, 1941, and she preceded him in death Nov. 1, 1999. He finished high school in California and moved to Detroit. He attended barber college and moved to Eclectric, Ala., where he was a barber for five years. He moved to Selma, Ala.; and was a barber for 55 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Selma and was a 32nd Degree Shriner in Montgomery, Ala. He was a member of West End Baptist Church in Selma. He moved to Troy in April, 1993 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy.
Survivors include a son, John W. Kiemele Sr. of Temple; four brothers, and five sisters, all of Alberta, Canada; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Scanio Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
