BELTON — Services for Naomi Lucille Koettner, 86, of Floresville, formerly of Belton, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Dossman Funeral Home of Belton.
Burial will follow in Temple Garden of Memories.
Mrs. Koettner died Wednesday, May 14, in a Floresville nursing home.
She was born Jan. 7, 1922, to Roy Grady and Era Shewmaker Denman in Roscoe. She trained as a nurse at Parkland Hospital in Dallas and graduated as a registered nurse. On May 24, 1945, she married Ralph Hedrick and moved to Stanton. She helped open the Memorial Hospital for Martin County and worked there until 1958. She worked at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Big Spring. She married John Alfred Koettner in 1969. They moved to Belton. She retired in 1982, after almost 40 years in nursing. She moved to Floresville in 2005. She was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi and a member of the First Baptist Church of Belton. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include a son, Jarrell Hedrick of Stanton; a daughter, June Lozano of Floresville; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
