Robbie I. Storm

LAMPASAS — Services for Robbie IraDell Storm, 97, of Lampasas will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First Street Church of Christ.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.

Mrs. Storm died Thursday, Jan. 1.

She was born in 1911, to Ira and Odelia Upton on a ranch near Pidcoke. She graduated from Gatesville High School in 1928. She earned a teaching certificate at Abilene Christian College. In 1930, she began teaching at various schools in Coryell and Lampasas Counties. She married Jim Storm in 1940. She co-founded in 1950, Storm’s Restaurants, then known as Dairy Cue, the old-fashioned drive-in. Storm’s now has locations in Burnet, Hamilton, Kingsland and Marble Falls, as well as the original in Lampasas, where she continued to work keeping the books until she was 93. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She volunteered with the meals-on-wheels program even in her nineties. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years in 1985.

Survivors include two sons, Robbis and John Doyne; a brother, Conrad Upton; three sisters, Loraine Murrah, Bonnie Davis and Janese Lancaster; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.
