Mrs. Francis died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, in a Temple hospital.
She was born June 25, 1944, to C.W. and Ocie Witt in Fort Worth. She graduated from Houston High School and graduated from Baylor University in 1963. She married Dan Francis on May 7, 1966. She taught English at Baylor University for 30 years. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Waco, serving as an Elder and a Deacon. She was also a member of the Board and the former secretary of Caritas Ministries and a member of the Development Council of Texas A&M College Veterinary Medicine. She was a former sponsor of Baylor Chapters of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and CHI’s Service organization.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years of Waco; a sister, Sharon Lyles of Dallas; and a grandson.
Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
