Mrs. Burgwin died Thursday, Jan. 1, at a local hospital.
She was born Jan. 16, 1932, to Floyd Edward Metcalf and Ina Marie Curry Metcalf in Hutchinson, Kan. She married William Burgwin in 1951. She lived in Dallas before moving to Temple 20 years ago. She was a homemaker, a member of several bridge groups and a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years of Temple; three sons, Patrick Ray Burgwin of Carrsville, Va., Douglas Jon Burgwin of Midlothian and William Todd Burgwin of Crandall; three brothers, Dean Metcalf of Illinois, Phillip Metcalf of Temple and Jerry Metcalf of Oklahoma; two sisters, Jackie Gould of Arizona and Debbie Chard of Kansas; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Oak Park United Methodist Church or to Scott & White’s Living Gifts Program through their office of development.
Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
