Burial will follow in Davilla Cemetery.
Mrs. Ellington died Tuesday, Dec. 30, at a Temple hospital.
She was born Sept. 5, 1939, to the late William Jacob and Ora Blanch Harp Cargill in Davilla. She married Vernon Price Ellington Sr. in July 1969 in Destrehan, La. She was a homemaker and worked as a beautician and home health care aide for many years. She lived in Rockdale and Milam County most of her life. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. She was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Ellington Jr., on Nov. 16, 1998.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years of Rockdale; a son, Russell Lee Ellington of Thorndale; three brothers, William Cargill Jr. and Jimmy Cargill, both of Thorndale, and Jerry Cargill of Davilla; two sisters, Velma Zajicek of Round Rock and Melba Joy Sumner of Thorndale; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
