Mrs. Thomspson died Friday, Jan. 2, at a local nursing home.
She was born on March 14, 1920, to the late Charles and Martha Garner Moore in Brady. She grew up in McCulloch County and moved to Gatesville as a teenager. She married Loyd Thompson on June 11, 1938. She worked at Medical Plastics, and owned and operated Cut n Curl Beauty Shop in McGregor for many years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years in 1987; a daughter, Sharon Mulvaney in 2006; and a grandson.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Thompson of Lake Whitney and Larry Thompson of Belton; a daughter, Darlene Wicker of Gatesville; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3-4 p.m. today at King Baptist Church fellowship hall.
