Burial will follow in Killeen City Cemetery with Police Honors.
Mr. McNeir died Saturday, Jan. 3.
He was born July 13, 1925, to Harrison and Zononi McNeir in Austin, Minn. He served for more than 22 years in the U.S. Army serving in World War II and Korea, retiring in 1966. His decorations include the Good Conduct Medal; the World War II Victory Medal; the Army Commendation Medal; and the National Defense Service Medal. He joined the Killeen Police Department where he served for 20 years working as a meter officer, City Court Bailiff; and an investigator in the Crimes Against Property Division. He was a life member of the American Legion, serving as 11 District Law & Order Officer for 10 years and 11 District Vice-Commander. He was also a life member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Lupe McNeir of Killeen; two daughters, Consuelo Samarripa of Harker Heights and Doris Syty Jaramillo of Killeen; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
