Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Bailey died Monday, Jan. 5, in a Cameron hospital.
He was born Aug. 28, 1927, in Cameron to James Robert and Gladys Lucille Scarborough Bailey. He graduated from C.H. Yoe High School and from Texas A&M with a degree in agricultural education. He was a rancher and worked for the Soil Conservation Service for more than 30 years. He married Ellen Luedke on Dec. 27, 1951. He was a member of the Abiding Savior Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a past president of the Yoe Booster Club, a member of the Aggie Century Club and the A&M Association of Former Students.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Bailey of Corinth and Jim Bailey of Cameron; a daughter, Karen Aycox of Brownwood, five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Cameron.
