Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with the Rev. Jack Chelf officiating.
Mrs. Burgess was born on July 27, 1934, to Wallace “W.T.” and Carrie Frazier Rudder in Rockdale. She married James Edward “Jimmy” Burgess in Rockdale. She was an L.V.N. in Rockdale and Cameron. She retired in 1974. She was a life-long resident of Rockdale and a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 10, 1996.
Survivors include a son, Mark Dwight Burgess of Rockdale; a daughter, Shelly Lynn Burgess of Rockdale; two sisters, Nadine Smith of Austin and Lerline “Jo” Sharp of Lubbock; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
