ROSEBUD — Services for Roy Whitfield, 83, of Rosebud will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud with the Rev. Ozell Hall officiating.

Burial will follow in Bluebonnet Cemetery.

Mr. Whitfield died Wednesday, Jan. 7, at a Marlin hospital.

He was born on June 11, 1925, to Judge and Bell Young Whitfield Sr. in Rosebud and was a life-long resident. He married Gladys Woridge. He farmed, ranched and owned Big Daddy’s Wrecking Yard.

Survivors include his wife of Rosebud; four brothers, Judge Whitfield Jr., R.J. Whitfield, Robert Whitfield and Artist Whitfield, all of Rosebud; and three sisters, Marie Hall of Waco, Charlie Mae Horton and Dorothy Thomas, both of Rosebud.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
