Mr. McCown died Thursday, Jan. 8, at a Temple hospital.
He was born on April 8, 1926, to William E. and Wollie “Carrie” McCown in Winnsboro. He worked as a truck driver. He married Lois Jean Head on Aug. 3, 1995, in Seabrook. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by a son, Fred Edward McCown Sr.
Survivors include his wife of Rockdale; three sons, William Edward McCown, Mark McCown and Kevin McCown, all of Dallas; a daughter, Jackie McCowan of Dallas; two brothers, Haskell McCown and Larry McCown; three sisters, Mattie Busby, Azzie Anderson and Ira Delois; three grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale is in charge of arrangements.
