The money will be used to construct about 9,000 feet of wastewater infrastructure and 11,500 feet of wastewater interception in the North Industrial Park, a press release from the office of Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, said.
“I appreciate the work and efforts of Sen. Hutchison to help us build and expand infrastructure in our Industrial Park,” Temple City Manager David Blackburn said. “These funds will help us improve and expand utility services to business and industry in our industrial park.”
Hutchison called the North Industrial Park “a critical area for manufacturing and distribution in Temple.”
The funding, she said, will help provide additional incentives for business owners to relocate to the region.
Hutchison, however, voted against the bill Monday because “it grew by more than 8 percent compared to fiscal year 2008 levels, including duplicative and unnecessary spending on 122 projects and agencies recently funded by the stimulus bill,” according to the release.
