Spring begins Friday and signs of the season are already popping up across the area thanks to recent rains and warmer temperatures. These bluebonnets were spotted on the corner of South 31st Street and Sleepy Hollow Lane in Temple on Saturday. More spring-like conditions are heading our way with highs reaching 80 degrees by mid-week and a slight chance for more showers Thursday. A weak cold front moves through by the end of the week dropping temperatures about 10 degrees, but by Sunday the highs will return to the average of 70 degrees, according to Lynae Miyer, KCEN-DT meteorologist. With the warmer temperatures arriving a bit early this year, expect to see more plants in bloom that usually don’t bloom until April, Miyer said. (Mitch Green/Telegram)
