Attendees also will receive goodie bags containing coupons, product samples and a Cooking School Brand Name magazine cookbook.
Doors open at 4 p.m. for participants to reserve seats and visit vendor booths, where food and wine samples will be available.
General admission tickets are $10 at the Temple Daily Telegram, Sears in Temple and Splendors of Salado through Monday. Tickets also can be bought online through Monday at www.tdtnews.com. On Tuesday, all ticket sales will be at the door. All VIP tickets sold out the first day of ticket sales.
Presented by the Telegram, the Cooking School is sponsored by HEB, Sears in Temple, Wilsonart HD Laminate, Splendors of Salado and the Mayborn Center.
This year’s show, “Spring Sensations,” will focus on warm-weather recipes with widespread appeal for both everyday and special occasions, said culinary specialist Jamie Dunn.
“Taste of Home captures the heart of a nationwide community with recipes that work and will please their families and friends,” Ms. Dunn said. “People come because of the connection to other cooks who love cooking, caring and sharing.
“It’s full of fun, prizes and interesting food ideas, so it really is for anyone who loves food.”
The show includes an intermission and numerous door prizes, including the opportunity for 10 lucky winners to take home dishes prepared on stage. Among the recipes demonstrated will be Salmon with Herb and Citrus Orzo, Mexican Lasagna and Fresh Fruit Tart.
A limited number of the three-ring Taste of Home Cookbook featuring more than 1,375 recipes will be available at the event for $25.
