“Not much you can say about this one,” Temple coach Steve Prentiss said. “The girls came out and won a game they were supposed to win.”
Both teams had five hits and Temple made five errors, compared to Heights’ two, but Temple took advantage of its opportunities, taking a 6-0 lead after the first two innings.

KILLEEN - The Belton Lady Tigers improved to 15-9 overall and 6-0 in District 12-5A with an 8-2 win over Killeen Shoemaker on Friday.
“We absolutely came out of the gates well,” Belton coach Matt Blackburn said. “I think their pitcher is one of the best pitchers in Central Texas and she did a good job keeping us off balance in the later innings.”
Belton scored four runs in the first two innings, and then put the game away by doubling that score in fourth.
Kacie Easley went 3-for-5 for the Tem-Cats, who improved to 13-11-1 overall and 4-2 in District 12-5A.
